Chapter One
Where the story began
When the owners came to me, Runswick Bay's two venues weren't doing themselves justice. Each had a website that got a bit lost and a logo that didn't quite sell the dream, and the two places didn't feel like part of the same family. Both sit in one of the most beautiful spots on the Yorkshire coast, yet nothing about the way they looked came close to matching their surroundings. The brief was to bring them together: to unify the two venues, lift them both, and create a brand worthy of where they stand.
Chapter Two
What we uncovered
The answer was right outside the window. The bay itself, a genuine hidden gem, was the real hero, and the one thing that naturally connected both venues. So rather than treat The Royal and the Runswick Bay Hotel as two separate problems, we let the place lead. One coastal story, told with the warmth and character of the village, became the thread that tied everything together, while still leaving room for each venue to keep its own personality: the lively pub down by the beach and the cosy hotel up in the village.

The Outcome
Two sister venues finally brought together as one warm, coastal brand, each keeping its own character while clearly belonging to the same family. Now they look every bit as inviting as the bay itself, drawing in the guests who'll love them and giving the team one confident look to run with day to day.
Chapter Three
The next chapter
I created a complete brand for Runswick Bay: two considered identities that finally feel related, a full brand kit to keep everything consistent, a new website that does the location justice, and a set of social templates the team can use day to day. The two venues now feel like one confident, joined-up brand, every bit as warm and characterful as the bay they look out over, and finally as beautiful to see as they are to visit.
